LEXUS HYBRIDS

RX  GS  LS

The ultimate statement when it comes to hybrid vehicles, Lexus RX Hybris, GS Hybrid and LS Hybrid should be at the top of your list.

It does not matter what you're looking for, Lexus makes a hybrid to fit your lifestyle. The RX Hybrid is the ultimate luxury SUV, both spacious and sporty. If you are looking for speed and power, the GS Hybrid delivers unforgettable performance. The newest addition to their hybrid line-up, the LS Hybrid, features unmatched luxury and impressive technology.

The Lexus RX was one of the first sedan-based, luxury utility vehicles, and it remains one the best. This so-called crossover is impressively smooth, comfortable, responsive in all driving situations and flexible when it comes to hauling people or cargo. It's finished with style and built like the proverbial Swiss watch, and it can be equipped with almost as many high-zoot features as the flagship Lexus LS 460 sedan.

The GS 450h features a two-speed torque-reduction system and a longitudinal hybrid transmission, a 291-pound techno-wonder as compact as the Prius's transmission. Motor Generator 1, rated at 180 horsepower, is the primary generator and engine starter and controls the engine speed; Motor Generator 2, rated at 197 horsepower, drives the rear wheels and manages regenerative braking. The GS 450h can accelerate to 40 mph without the engine, making it a combo sport sedan/golf cart. Transitions are seamless, with none of the driveline jerk that often happens when the engine kicks in on other hybrid cars.

The technological cockpit gadgetry available on the Lexus LS 600h, would require another full article. Sufficed to say, it comes standard with a navigation and Mark Levinson audio system—which share a 30GB hard drive—and tons of airbags. Plus, you can outfit the 600h L with all the outrageous options that can be tacked onto the standard LS, such as the much-ballyhooed Advanced Parking Guidance System (which can park the car itself in only twice the time it would take to do so yourself) and a reclining, massaging rear seat that would put most business-class airline chairs to shame.  Bring a big check, if you have to ask how much - you can't afford one.
